THE SACRED STATE
Entering The Ihram
Ihram is not just a garment, but a state of spiritual purity and total surrender to Allah.

Ghusl (Purification)
Perform a complete bath with the intention of entering Ihram before reaching the Miqat.

Wearing the Garment
Men wear two unstitched white cloths; women wear their modest regular clothes.

The Niyyah (Intention)
Pronounce: 'Labbayk Allahumma Umrah' (I am at Your service, O Allah, for Umrah).

The Talbiyah
Recite the Talbiyah continuously until you reach the Holy Mosque in Makkah.

Tawaf: Circling the Kaaba
Begin at the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad). Circle the Kaaba seven times counter-clockwise, keeping the Kaaba on your left. Each circuit begins and ends with 'Bismillah, Allahu Akbar'.

Sa'i: Between Safa and Marwa
Walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwa, emulating the search of Hajar (RA) for water. Start at Safa and finish at Marwa. This symbolizes perseverance and trust in Allah's mercy.

Halq or Taqsir
To complete your Umrah, men should shave their heads (Halq) or trim their hair significantly (Taqsir). Women should cut a small amount (about a fingertip's length) from the end of their hair.
